Black and White Movement

OUR VISION

The Black and White Movement was founded in August 2005 at the height of the “Garci” controversy.

We heard the tapes. We read the transcript. We believe GMA cheated in the 2004 elections.

Based on this, we called for the resignation, impeachment, or ouster of GMA.

We believe transparency and accountability are the true hallmarks of good governance. We believe the people have
the right to know the truth about the “Garci incident” and other related issues. We condemn, then and now, GMA’s
use of the awesome power of her office in connivance with unprincipled legislators to pervert the law and suppress
the truth.

We advocate good governance. We believe it is the key to realizing our vision of a nation where every citizen enjoys
true freedom – not just of speech and expression, but also from debt and the bondage of poverty. We dream of one
day standing proud in the community of advanced economies as co-equal.

Good governance requires not just good leaders, but also active citizens. We enjoin all Filipinos who share our vision
to be involved now. Let us, together, fight for the truth, at whatever cost. Because the truth will set us free.

The truth has no shades of gray. It must be as clear as black and white.
